We always start with a design consultation to formally meet one another and take a tour at your home. This is when we discuss what areas you would like help with. Whether you'd like to refresh your home with a new style or completely revamp with some construction, we can come up with a game plan and discuss all the dreams you have for your space.

During this phase, we explore, brainstorm, and learn about everything you want out of your space. It includes discussing the project in detail, documenting, identifying your style preferences and ideas, followed by site visits to measure and photograph. We’ll discuss preliminary budget, design service costs and obtain any existing architectural plans. 

Once we've honed in on your desired style, space planning plays a big role in the design concept and creative direction. First, I will take the field measurements from the programming phase and create a 3-D model that is to scale and nearly identical to your space. The model ensures that the size and scale of furnishings and decor are appropriate for your space. The model provides an accurate depiction of what your finished space could look like. Finally, I will make selections for the different elements (materials, finishes, fixtures, and furniture). At this point, it's time to present the designs to you for your approval before moving to the finalization phase.

After I present the designs to you, I will make any final changes to the model based on your feedback. From there, renderings from the 3-D model, new measurements (if needed), and a product list will be created and sent to you.

From there we work on making the dream a reality. We’ll discuss timeline expectations, based on your project and the extent of work needed. The client is responsible for project management and coordinating contractor visits. I will always be available to address any challenges that arise during the process (they always do), but will ensure that you will end up with a result that you love. In this phase, we start visiting showrooms and purchasing items from the product list to begin the implementation phase.

When products start to arrive is when the real fun starts. Once the larger furnishings are in place, I will then go shopping for the smaller decor pieces that will finish the space and further define the style. Your space will evolve into the final design over the course of a few weeks. This phase is not one that happens in a day (common misconception). Consider it like a butterfly. Beauty takes time and it gets ugly before it's beautiful! I will follow up throughout the project to check in on progress, address any concerns and help in any way that I can.
